COE-541 Local and Metropolitan Area Networks - Design and Analysis
More resources for the project - Mainly from the OpNet 2003 conference - see below.
Oct 31st - Midterm date - during class time
Oct26th - first deliverable for project
Please note the IEEE802.11 standard in the Project section - a needed reference for your project.
The project deadlines and deliverables are outlined below.

Course Project:
You are required to reproduce the simulation results presented in the following paper:
Changle Li; Jiandong Li; Xuelian Cai;"Performance Analysis of IEEE 802.11 WLAN to Support Voice Services, "Advanced Information Networking and Applications, 2004. AINA 2004. 18th International Conference on , Volume: 2 , 2004.
and possibly extend the study by considering other types of traffic and/or enhancements to the access mechanism. An introductory study into PCF characterization can be found in:
Xiyan Ma; Yi Wu; Zhisheng Niu; Saito, T.; "Performance
analysis of the packetized voice transmission with PCF in an IEEE 802.11
infrastructure wireless LAN," 9th Asia-Pacific Conference on Communications,
