Research Activities

Carried out many research projects in the area of thermofluids that resulted in numerous publications in top-rated international journals such as Journal of Fluid Mechanics (JFM), Int. Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, ASME Journal of Fluids Engineering, ASME Journal of Heat Transfer, Computers and Fluids, Int. Journal of Impact Engineering, AIChE and many others. The published work covers both areas of basic and applied research. In addition, several patents have been filed in the U.S. Patent Office; some were published and the others are in the pipeline.

  • Director of the Fluid Mechanics Laboratory (1981-1991 and 2002-2010). Revised and updated all experiments being offered for ME 301 and ME 311 and writing all handouts.

  • Director of the Pumping Machinery (1996-2002). Prepared all laboratory experiments for ME 438 course as well as the laboratory manual. Taking care of all aspects of laboratory development.

  • Offered several short courses to practicing engineers in the areas of pumping machinery, piping systems and fluid power systems.
