  • Appointed and served as a Member of the Council of both Colleges of Engineering Sciences and Applied Engineering for the academic year 1995/96.

  • Member of the KFUPM College of Engineering Executive Planning Committee formed by H.E. the Rector (for a period of two years) and headed by the Dean of the College of Engineering, 2000-2002.

  • Chairman of the KFUPM College of Engineering Special Function Committee (1998-99).

  • Appointed as a Chairman or a Member of more than 35 Faculty Promotion Committees to the Associate Professorial rank (1983-Present).

  • Appointed and served as a Chairman or a Member of more than 25 Faculty Promotion Committees to the Professorial rank (1988-Present).

  • Member of ad-hoc committees to develop an information package for KFUPM new faculty

  • Member of an ad-hoc committee to revise/update the faculty teaching evaluation forms, and to review applications for the KFUPM Teaching and Research Awards

  • Chairman of KFUPM College of Engineering Committee for selection of the recipients of the Distinguished Teaching and Distinguished Advising Awards for the academic years 2012/13, 2013/14 and 2014/15.

  • Chairman of ME Curriculum Committee (January 1987 - August 1991), in charge of revising the Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanical Engineering curricula, the new curricula were implemented starting September, 1989

  • Chairman of Ph. D. Program Committee (1990 -1991 and 1994-1997)

  • Chairman of ME Textbook Committee (1980 -1983)

  • Chairman of a Departmental ad-hoc Committee to review and update the M.E. graduate program in the areas of Fluid and Thermal Sciences

  • Member of ME Laboratory Development Committee (1979-1990)

  • Member of ME Graduate Committee (1981-1988)

  • Member of the ME Planning Committee (1986-1991 and 1993-94)

  • Coordinator of Mechanical Engineering Seminars during the academic years 1992/93, 93/94, and 94/95

  • Chairman of ME ad-hoc committee for the preparation and implementation of the Senior Capstone Design Course as recommended by ABET, 1994

  • Member of an ME ad-hoc committee to study a proposal for the establishment of an Aerospace Engineering Program at KFUPM, 1994

  • Director of the Fluid Mechanics Laboratory (1981-1991 and 2002-2010), revised and updated all experiments being offered for ME 301 and ME 311 and preparing all handouts

  • Director of the Pumping Machinery (1996-2002), preparation of all laboratory experiments for ME 438 course as well as the laboratory manual, taking care of all aspects of laboratory development

  • Chairman of Departmental Committee for selection of the recipients of the Distinguished Teaching and Distinguished Advising Awards for the academic year 2012/013

  • Coordinated the implementation of the new ME and AME curricula, 2011/2014
