My Biography

 

Dr. Ali Al-Shaikhi is the Dean of the College of Engineering at KFUPM since January 2019 to date and the Director, Center for Energy and Geo-Processing (CEGP) since 2013 to date. He was the chairman of the Electrical Engineering Department at KFUPM from 2011 to 2018. He received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, in 1997 and 2001, respectively. He received the PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from Dalhousie university, Halifax, Canada, in 2008.

He got the following scholarships: the faculty of graduate study (FGS) at Dalhousie University Scholarship and Bruce and Dorothy Rosetti Engineering Research Scholarship. He also received a travel grant award of the 5th Annual Conference on Communication Networks and Services Research (CNSR), May, 2007. He was awarded KFUPM scholarship to pursue his Ph.D. degree overseas.

Dr. Ali Al-Shaikhi's research interests lie in the areas of wireless communication, communication theory, digital communications, signal processing, and computer networks.
