Completed Projects

  • “An alternative vehicle fuel and Risk analysis on oil and gas pipeline management”, project funded by AIF and NSERC. This research work introduced an alternative vehicle fuel instead of hydrocarbon fuel. Effective Models introduced in flammability and individual risk management. Three research publications accepted/submitted in refereed journals (detail in publication reference).
  • Waterjet drilling as a sustainable Technique and coupled this with Laser drilling, as part of a $4 million project funded by the Federal Government of Canada through Atlantic Innovation Fund (AIF) and Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), and by Schlumberger. This research introduces sustainable drilling activities, reservoir rock simulation, identification of the behavior of natural and artificial materials, model development, developed new scaling criteria for field applications, coupling waterjet with leaser drilling for a new line of drilling technology etc. Completed research on core analysis, NMR and log analysis. Eight research publications submitted in refereed journals/ conferences (detail in publication reference).
  • Role of temperature and memory in reservoir rock and fluid during thermal operation in porous media”, Funded by NSERC. Developed models, developed new line of recovery technique. Seven research publications accepted in refereed journals/conferences (detail in publication reference).
  • Complex reservoir rheology and fluid properties with memory”, a third project funded by the AIF and NSERC. Developed fluid flow models with numerical solutions, developed new scaled model for oil-water displacement process, modeling shear thinning fluids, and proper solution of various oil recovery techniques. Nine research publications accepted in refereed journals/conferences (detail in publication reference).
  • Development of new material balance equations for oil recovery”, a fourth project funded by the NSERC. Developed comprehensive, new, and rigorous material balance equation for ultimate oil recovery process. Two research publications accepted/submitted in refereed journals/conferences (detail in publication reference).
  • Effects of Criterion Values on the Equations for Radius of Drainage and Time for Stabilization”. This Research work introduced a radius of drainage equation, generalized forms of correlations on estimations of radius of drainage for an infinite acting reservoir and stabilization time for both closed outer boundary and constant pressure outer boundary reservoir. This project was funded by Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Three numbers research publications published in refereed journals/conferences (detail in publication reference).

  • The Use of Memory Concept to Investigate Temperature Profile in hydrocarbon Formation during Thermal Operation in an EOR Scheme”, project funded by DSR, KFUPM. This research work includes the concept of memory during and thermal EOR process and introduced new energy balance model for temperature distribution. Six research publication accepted/submitted in referred journals/conference (detail in publication reference).
