Served as The Workshop Program Director for the Workshop on Energy Conservation in Industrial Applications, WEC’ 2000, held at KFUPM, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, February 12-14, 2000.

Chaired the Organizing Committee of the Sixth Saudi Engineering Conference which was hosted at KFUPM during the period 14-17 December, 2002. This conference is the largest conference gathering in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. About two thousand engineers attended the conference. The Conference was a great success. One of the fruitful results of holding it in the University was the generous donation from HRH Prince Sultan Bin Abdu-Aziz to build King Fahd Conference Hall on campus.

Chaired the Organizing Committee of The First International Book Exhibition held at KFUPM during the period 12-22 March, 2002.

Chaired the Organizing Committee of Second Administratve Sciences Conference held at KFUPM during the period 19-21 April, 2004.
