Associate Professor

Dr. Sheikh Sharif Iqbal Mitu


Dr Sheikh has completed his BSc (1990) degree in ‘Electrical and Communication Engineering‘ from University of San Carlos, MSc (1992) degree in  ‘Communication Engineering & Digital Electronics‘ and PhD Degree (1996) in ‘Electrical Engineering‘ from University of Manchester, UK. He has authored 65 referred journal/conference papers, 1 US patent, 12 published technical reports. He is involved with 13 funded projects with total fund of 2 Million SAR. He is a senior member of IEEE, Fellow of IET (IEE) and founding coordinator of IET-KFUPM  students network. His achievements includes several local and international awards related to teaching, research and supporting student activities.


Research Interests:

His research work is based on modeling, simulation and when possible experimental verification of gyrotropic control circuits and antennas for RF/microwave/millimeter-wave devices. His recent research interest involves modeling the front end of microwave sensors, which integrates gyrotropic control devices with compact, switchable, wideband and/or multi-frequency planar antennas.
