It is extremely important to read the assigned material in the textbook and other assigned references.

Course Description:

This course covers major contracting and administrative aspects encountered in construction projects, including those listed in the attached syllabus and detailed course content. Special considerations will be given to the related Saudi regulatory and administrative practices.

Course Objectives:

Students enrolled in this course are expected to achieve two main objectives:

1.     A clear understanding of the issues and concepts presented throughout the course. Attainment of this objective will be measured by three exams.

2.     Improving student's research and communication skills. To achieve this objective, each student is required to:

a.      Participate fully in class discussions.

b.     Present orally a professional journal article to the class (refer to handout).

c.     Write a research paper on a topic relevant to construction contracting and administration (refer to handout).

Performance Evaluation:

The student's performance in this course will be evaluated as follows:

1.     Class discussion and article presentation         10%

2.     Research paper                                              25%

3.     Two midterm exams (20% each)                     40%

4.     Final exam                                                      25%

 

Please note a DN grade will be given to students with 6 or more unexcused absences.
