Course Description
The nature of the International community
and how states interact. Theories of international relations and
the factors that affect the international community. Aspects
related to international relations such as globalization, United
Nations and other organizations. Some regional and international
current issues.
Prerequisite: ENGL

Course
Objectives
The course aims at:
·
Introducing students to the academic study of
international relations.
·
Helping students to explore the nature of
international community and relations between States.
·
Helping students to develop their academic skills;
with emphasis on communication, strategic thinking, and critical
analysis skills.
·
Motivating students to become lifelong learners.
·
Introducing students to the study of major
theories of international relations. Hence, providing them with
an academic framework of analysis.
·
Developing students’ knowledge of major factors
affecting international relations.
·
Introducing students to key concepts of
international relations. In particular, but not limited to
foreign policy and globalization.

Outcomes
The course will enable students to:

Rationally and objectively analyze and assess
international relations.
·
Apply, Evaluate, and discuss major approaches and
theories of international relations.
·
Identify major factors that affect international
relations.
·
Define key concepts in international relations.
·
Acquire a broader perspective on the international
community and a better understanding of relations between
States.

Critically reflect upon key issues of contemporary
international relations.
·
Enhance their ability to think strategically and
objectively and to adopt the approach of a lifelong learner.
