Short Bio |
Prof. Zummo received the B.Sc. and
M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of
Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, in 1998 and 1999,
respectively. He received his PhD degree from the
University of Michigan
at Ann Arbor, USA, in June 2003. He is currently a Professor
in the Electrical Engineering Department and the
Dean of Graduate
Studies at KFUPM. Prof. Zummo is a Senior Member of the IEEE.
Prof. Zummo was awarded Saudi Ambassador
Award for early PhD completion in 2003, and the British Council/BAE
Research Fellowship Awards in 2004 and 2006. He won the KFUPM Excellence
in Research Award for the year 2011 - 2012.
Prof. Zummo has more than
80
publications in referred ISI international journals and conference proceedings in
the area of wireless communications including cooperative communication,
cognitive radio networks, diversity techniques, MIMO systems, iterative receivers, multiuser
diversity, multihop networks, user cooperation, error control coding, interference modeling
and networking issues for wireless communication systems.
