§ Worked for the development of ion selective electrodes for nutrients such as nitrate, nitrite and phosphate as part of the “CSIRO Flagship Collaboration Fund Cluster Sensors Systems for Analysis of Aquatic Environments”. The project is still in progress at the University of the Sunshine Coast.

Nanotechnology Victoria, Australia (June 2006- December 2008)
§ Developed a portable combined electrode probe/system which can be used to fabricate biosensors for any of the analytes and for in-field analysis. Optimised the fabrication and measurement conditions for the determination of nitrate and phosphate by using this combined electrode system. The combined electrode probe has been successfully employed for the analysis of nitrates and phosphates in natural water systems. This electrode system (for nitrate) has a wide linear concentration and can be applied to determine nitrate concentrations as low as 10 ppb to as high as 300 ppm.

Pakistan Science Foundation, Islamabad, Pakistan (February 2001 –
February 2002).
§ Developed a system for Aerosol Assisted Chemical Vapour Deposition to successfully generate aerosol of coordination compounds dissolved in an organic solvent and to decompose them at relatively lower temperatures to synthesise mixed metal oxides. The synthesis and characterisation of several bimetallic precursors were also carried out during this project.
