Conducted research in the area of multi-phase flow, Flow Accelerated Corrosion, and two-phase flow metering and led multidisciplinary research initiatives.

R&D Engineer, Component Life Technology Branch, CANDU Technology Development, (2005-2008)

Improved the Flow Accelerated Corrosion (FAC) model for Darlington Nuclear Generating Station (DNGS) in predicting the wear rate in piping components. Provided consultation to Nuclear Power Plants, on Flow Accelerated Corrosion (FAC) in piping components during station outages.Carried out experimental and analytical research on FAC in two-phase flow, funded by CANDU Owner Group (COG) in collaboration with McMaster University.

Developed and carried out experimental and analytical research programs on air-oil two-phase flow through pipe singularities, funded by NSERC and Pratt & Whitney Canada. Improved a capacitance sensor-based technique for void fraction measurements and flow pattern identification.  Provided consultation to GASTOPS Ltd, on two-phase flow through a pipe restriction.

Research and Teaching Assistant, Mechanical Power Engineering Department, (1995-2001)

Planned, and performed experimental investigations of the free turbulent jet using Laser Doppler Anemometry. Provided guidelines for air-lift pumps design operated in multi-phase flow for sludge extraction in sewage systems. Participated in the design of pumping station for heavy oil transportation for Mobil-Oil Co., the eastern coast, Egypt.Participated in the design of the heating system for the wax production line at Mobil-Oil Co. on Alexandria, Egypt.
