VoD Deployment
This is per team effort. You are to deploy VoD on the hospitality network
of Assignment #4. Read the following [1]
and [2] in order to be able to answer the
following questions.
- Show graphs of OPNET results with support of 40% VoIP calls of the
hospitality network. Show results of bandwidth, delay, and MOS values
for these calls.
- Document the VoD session distributions, as discussed in the class.
- What are the following DVD-quality VoD requirements and constrains:
Bandwidth in pps and bps, packet loss, maximum delay? Assume 1344 bytes per
packet as assumed in prior work of VC. Consider overhead bits for bps.
- Download T2, Validation, and MatrixIII movies. You will need
some of these files for OPNET simulation. EXTRA POINTS: plot a
histogram of PDF and CDF, as done for VC. You may use Gnuplot or
BestFit. Both software are available.
- Search the literature for good papers on Audio Streaming. You need
to look for a good source on AS requirements in terms of pps, bps, packet
loss, and maximum delay. Search for "OPNET music audio".
Submit not more than 3-page report.
==> For your next assignments, you will use OPNET to determine the number of
VoD sessions that can be supported, and then AS sessions.
