This website contains material related to Arabic character and text recognition (OCR). Currently the site provides two printed Arabic datasets along with some recognition results that have been achieved using these datasets. The datasets are candidates to be benchmarks for printed Arabic OCR. We hope the site will be expanded to contain more datasets and other Arabic OCR related material.

The datasets presented in this site are part of the research work pursued towards the fulfillment of the Requirements for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Electronic Imaging and Media Communications (EIMC) of the School of Computing, Informatics & Media at the University of Bradford, UK.
