CHEM 303 Spectroscopic and Qualitative Organic Chemistry (2-4-3)

Lecture: A course in which spectroscopy and classical methods are combined to identify unknown organic compounds.  Separation of mixtures ofunknowns is carried out using chromatographic methods and other classical chemical methods.  Spectroscopic NMR methods for the identification of compounds are emphasized.

Laboratory: Spectroscopic and wet chemical techniques are used to determine structures of unknown organic compounds.

Prerequisite: CHEM 202
