an imageWelcome to the SimOpt Research Lab (SORL). The SimOpt Research Lab is a computational laboratory that specializes in solving flow problems. We conduct research in forward and inverse modeling of subsurface flow . Specifically, our research covers the following topics:

Reservoir Simulation

Inverse Modeling and Uncertainty Analysis

Well Placement Optimization

Integrated Field Development Studies

Well Test Analysis

Groundwater Flow and Contaminant Transport

Available Postdoctoral Research Position
We invite applications for a postdoctoral position involving interesting and challenging topics. The ideal candidate should be a recent graduate with a Ph.D degree in Computational/Applied Mathematics, Petroleum Engineering, Hydrology or a closely related engineering field. In particular, expertise in at least one of: multiscale finite-element simulation, uncertainty quantification, model reduction, adjoint analysis for inverse problems, or computational geometry is required. The candidate should be proficient in writing codes in MATLAB and/or C++ and should be familiar with numerical modeling of fluid flow in porous media. The remuneration package is very attractive. The position would remain open until a suitable candidate is selected. Interested candidates should send their resume and a short statement indicating their interest in this position to:
