Funded Research Projects

1.    The IPA project for Implementing "Natural Language Voice Interface for Controlling Audio-Video equipment's [TV, VCR, DVD]”, From February 2000, supported by the Japanese Ministry of International Trading.

2.    KODAMA (Kyushu University Open & Distributed Autonomous Multi-agent system) project from April 1999 to March 2002.

3.    Multi-agent based electronic commerce project from April 2001 to March 2002. This project sponsored by Fukuoka/Japan Prefecture government for implementing an electronic commerce system based on Kodama agent system as an integration technology for the next generation Web.

4.    Multi-Agent Based Ubiquitous Approach for Personalized Information Systems research project supported by KFUPM as junior faculty research grant, JF-2005/10.

5.    Co-investigator of the project “A neural networks model with bounded-Weights as a novel approach for forecasting incomplete data imputation in software cost assessment” supported by SABIC.

6.    Promoting Technology Based Learning project supported by KFUPM as a part of KFUPM strategic plane projects.

7.    Principle Investigator of the research project, ”Hybrid Computational Intelligence Framework for Handling of Bioinformatics Datasets”, for 18 months from 1-4-2009 to 1-10-2010, Funded by KFUPM Internal Fund Research Project # IN090024.

8.    Principle Investigator of a research project “A collaborative Multi-Agent Based Model of Personal Information Managers”, for 18 months from 1-4-2009 to 1-10-2010 Funded by KFUPM Internal Fund Research Project # IN090023.

9.    Co-investigator of a research project “Ubiquities Interface Agent for Customizing Web Portals Searching & Browsing”, Funded by Taif University, Project # 1/430/407, KSA, 2009.

10. Co-investigator of the project No. 08-OIL82-4 “Prediction of Permeability and Rock Mechanical Properties, and Identification of Lithofacies Using Latest Artificial Intelligence Techniques” funded by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) under the 2nd Cycle of the National Science, Technology & Innovation Plan (NSTIP) of Saudi Arabia for 24 months started at 1-August-2010.

11. Co-investigator of the project # AT-18-106 “Intelligent Arabic Hadith Narrator” funded by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) for 8 months started at 1-12-2010.

12. Co-investigator of the project “Hybrid Computational Intelligence Model for Gas Separator Components” funded by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) for 8 months started at 1-12-2010.

13. Principle Investigator of a research project #10-INF1381-04 “A Framework for Agent-Based Semantic Query-Enabled Integrated Information for Health and Nutrition” funded by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) under the 3rd Cycle of the National Science, Technology & Innovation Plan (NSTIP) of Saudi Arabia for 24 months starts 1st of May 2011.

14. Co-investigator of a research project # SF111-CCSE-12 “A Hybrid Computational Intelligence Models for Software Development Effort Estimation” starting January 2012 for 12th months.

15.  Principle Investigator of a research project # FT121010, “Agent-Based Framework for Semantic Annotation of Images”, funded by Deanship of research at KFUPM, 2013, from 10-3-2013 to 10-2-2014.
