Research Interests

• Geophysical applications in CO2 sequestration. In particular, the applications of seismic methods in CO2 site characterization and time-lapse monitoring

• Geophysical reservoir characterization

• Qualitative and quantitative interpretation of seismic data

• Near-surface geophysics. In particular, applications of seismic, ground-penetrating radar (GPR) and electrical resistivity imaging (ERI) technqiues in environmental and engineering/geotechnical studies

Thesis Supervision

I’m interested in supervising (or co-supervising) smart, enthusiastic and dedicated graduate students in any of the two M.Sc. programs in Geophysics at KFUPM.

Excellence in Research

I’m currently involved in many projects related to carbon capture and storage (CCS) under King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, Technology Innovation Center on Carbon Capture and Storage (KACST-TIC CCS):

• Development of workflow for site selection

• Potential for leakage

• Monitoring and verification of CO2 storage

Job Opportunity:

I'm looking for full-time research associate (with Ph.D. or M.Sc. degree) who is interested and have skills in geophysical modeling (seismic wave propagation and rock physics). There are some good incentives (salary, annual ticket and accommodation) and interested individuals are invited to contact me.

Part-time Consultancy

I’m interested in pursuing research that may come as a component of part-time consultancy for any government agency or company in the areas listed under Research Interest.
