Bio
Samir Mekid is a Chartered Engineer registered in London (UK) by IMECHE and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Department of Mechanical Engineering (KFUPM). Precision Machine Design, Instrumentation and Manufacturing are his main research areas.
Prior to joining KFUPM, Samir served as Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at UMIST (UK) since 2001 which became later The University of Manchester (UK). He worked with Caterpillar in the Design Office for two years and consultant to many industrial companies.
Samir has published more than 100 research papers, 2 books in CRC and Springer and about two dozens of Patents. He received the KFUPM Research Excellence Award and The Academic Advisor Award.
