Definition and Usage

Defines text that has been deleted in a document.

Tips and Notes

Tip: Use it together with the <ins> tag to describe updates and modifications to a document.

Examples

This code:	Produces this output:
a dozen is <del>twenty</del> pieces	a dozen is ~~twenty~~ pieces

Optional Attributes

Attributes:	Values:	Description:
cite	url	Links to another document which explains why the text was deleted or inserted
datetime	yyyymmdd	Marks the date and time the text was deleted or inserted

id, class, title, style, dir, lang
