Creating email cert for Thunderbird (Web based mails don't support i/mime)

A complete tutorial through http://wiki.cacert.org/ThunderBird

You may also use Outlook or other clients with S/MIME support

Two things to be aware of if you're in campus (only KFUPM campus)

KFUPM ITC firewall maintains a white list of ports (all ports are blocked except for certain ones). Therefore, you're email provider should use the default protocols and ports. Otherwise, use your university email (if you're not sure) through one of the mail clients with i/mime support (see “Creating email cert for Thunderbird”). Also, you have to use own machine as you need administrative privileges for the browser to generate the certificate keys and to install them.
