RESEARCH VISITS

·        Summer of 1996 spent in the Electronics and Electrical Engineering Department, University of Glasgow as a research visitor under a grant from the British Council. The research was collaboration between the Saudi and British universities in the field of opto-electronics. The host of that period was Professor John M. Arnold of Electronics and Electrical Engineering Department, Glasgow, United Kingdom.

·        Summer 1998 spent in the Electronics and Electrical Engineering Department, University of Glasgow as a research visitor under a grant from the British Council. The research was collaboration between the Saudi and British universities in the field of photonics technology. The goal of the visit is to develop new techniques that model optical pulse in dielectric waveguides. The host of that period was Professor John M. Arnold of Electronics and Electrical Engineering Department, Glasgow, United Kingdom.

·        Summer 2001 spent in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department, Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London, UK as a research visitor under a grant from the British Council. The research was collaboration between the Saudi and British universities in the field of photonics technology. The goal of the visit is to develop new techniques that model optical pulse in dielectric waveguides containing nonlinear response. The host of that period was Professor Richard R. A. Syms of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department, Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London, United Kingdom.

·        A Senior Researcher at the Laser Chemistry Group at the Institute of Chemical Process Fundamentals, The Czech Academy of Sciences, Prague, Czech Republic, hosted by Prof. Josef Pola, 5-12 Sep. 2003.

·        A Visiting Research Professor at the Emerging Communications Technology Institute, Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada for the entire academic year 2006/2007. Spent a sabbatical research leave hosted by Prof. J. Stewart Aitchison, 2007.
