Dr. Shaikh Abdur Razzak is an Associate
Professor in the department of Chemical Engineering at King Fahd
University of Petroleum & Minerals, Saudi Arabia. He received
his PhD degree from The University of Western Ontario, Canada in
chemical Engineering. Dr. Shaikh Abdur Razzak also completed his
Master's degree from King Fahd University of Petroleum &
Minerals, Saudi Arabia and Bachelor degree from Bangladesh
University of Engineering and Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh, all
in chemical Engineering. He is a licenced Professional Engineer
of Canada and registered with the province of Ontario, Canada.
Dr. Shaikh Abdur Razzak is a very active member in his Chemical
Engineering profession. He is a very enthusiastic teacher and
actively involved in supervising, training both graduate and
undergraduate level Chemical Engineering students. Dr. Shaikh
Abdur Razzak taught different chemical engineering undergraduate
courses such as Principles of Chemical Engineering-I (Mass
Balance), Principles of Chemical Engineering-II (Thermodynamics
and Energy Balance), Fluid mechanics, Mass transfer, Kinetics
and Reactor Design, Biochemical Engineering, Process Design and
Graduate Courses such as Advanced Reaction Engineering, Advanced
Reactor Design, and Advanced Biochemical Engineering. He also
contribute in developing course materials of graduate elective
courses. In addition, Dr. Shaikh Abdur Razzak serving as
reviewer of many reputed national and international chemical and
biochemical engineering journals.
Dr. Shaikh Abdur Razzak has developed his significant expertise
on Chemical and Biochemical area particularly in kinetics and
reaction engineering, environmental area. He contribute
substantial research on fluidization, wastewater treatment, CO2
Mitigation, microalgae growth kinetics, microalgae to valuable
fuel, CO2 conversion to bioenergy, reaction
Engineering and kinetics, catalysis, H2S conversion to Sulphur.
He brought fifteen research grants from university and
government organisations (KACST, Saudi ARAMCO, and NSTIP-KACST).
This fund support to develop world-class biochemical & reaction
engineering research laboratory at CHE-KFUPM. In collaboration
with his colleagues and international researchers, he developed
several research projects in the area of CO2 capture
and wastewater treatment using biochemical approach, CO2 to
Bioenergy, Catalysis and Reaction Engineering. In those
research projects, a significant number of graduate students and
manpower involved and trained. He supervised, co-supervised a
significant number of graduate MS/PhD students. His research
outcomes published 54 referred articles published in prestigious
international journals (around 800 citations), 4 US issued
Patents, 2 pending patents and over 50 international and
national conferences articles.
In addition to teaching and research, I also have been
contributing to the community services in department, college
and international levels. Last five years, he served as
chairman of Program Accreditation and Assessment committee (ABET
& NCAAA). He also served in laboratory and safety committee,
curriculum committee. At the university level, I worked in
scientific research committee for last five years. Beside that
he also served in different community services for the
department, college and university level. |
