SE301: NUMERICAL METHODS

Course Objectives: The course aims to introduce numerical methods that are critical for the solution of modern engineering problems. The course emphasizes algorithms development and applications to realistic engineering problems.

Prerequisite: ICS 101 (or ICS 102) , MATH 201

Textbook: Cheney and Kincaid, "Numerical mathematics and computing". 4th edition.

Attendance : University regulation will be strictly enforced. If you miss a class it is your responsibility to cover the topic yourself. Mising 9 lectures or more will result in a DN grade.

 

Homework: Homework must be submitted on time. No credit will be awarded to late homework. You can do the engineering case studies in any programming language, however, our grader will be able to help you with (MATLAB or FORTRAN).

 

 

Exams: NO MAKE UP QUIZZES or EXAMS WILL BE GIVEN.
