review when, while p. 132  For example:

We went to Drift Street to have fun.  When we were there, I was fast in my car.  When we were there, I was driving fast in my car. /or/ When we were there, I drove fast in my car.

“Then” is sometimes misused: “and” is sometimes misused.  For an opposing thought use BUT

Then I wanted to cross the street and while I was crossing, that fast driver came again;  so I got nervous and worried. …better: I wanted to cross the street, but, while I was crossing, that fast driver came;  so I got nervous and worried.

so means therefore.  It is a connector only when you mean therefore.

We had fun.  Not we was fun.

I was badly hurt  see p. 155 It hurts  (not  “After the accident, he was damaged.”)
