Visiting Scientist, Postdoctoral Associate, Instructor at Cornell University, 1992 - current. Scientific Researcher at the Institute of Spectroscopy, 1983-1992.
Research
I work with Prof. A.J.Sievers on the problem of anharmonic localization of lattice vibrations. Such a localization takes place in a uniform lattice without imperfections.
Anharmonic Localization
With Java Applets you can try Molecular Dynamics Simulations of Intrinsic Gap Modes in 3D ionic crystals, Intrinsic Local Modes in a 1D lattice and a 1D spin chain, and Toda Lattice Solitons.
Teaching
I teach Introductory Physics, Physics 101-102. I also maintain the Home Page for this course.
