Homework # 1  

 

HW1#P1: Find 20 of the Main Journals, Books, and sites of Nuclear Physics.

HW1#P2: For  a particle confined to a 3 – dim  Infinite Spherical Well :

-         Calculate the energy eigenvalues and reproduce Fig. 2.11in Krane.

-          Find  the energy eigenvalue of  (n, l) = (3,1).

-          Plot the radial part of the wave function for l = 0, 1, 2 and n=1, 2, 3.

-          Plot    

HW1#P3: Show that:

-         The energy levels degeneracy for the 3-dimesional Coulomb Potential = n2

-          The energy levels degeneracy for the 3-dimesional Simple Harmonic Oscillator   =(n+1) (n+2) degenerate levels

 

HW1#P4: Calculate the binding energy per nucleon of  4He, 56Fe, and 235U. Comment on the results.
