Previously, we considered resonance of a stretched string fixed at one end and attached to a vibrator at the other end.  If the vibrator oscillation amplitude is much smaller than the antinode amplitudes at resonance, we may consider the position of the vibrator as a node. This case is similar to a string fixed at both ends but made to oscillate by some other means.
