Principal Investigator: “Investigation of Grass and Grass Ash as Environment Friendly Drilling Fluid Additives”, (12/2014 – 05/2016), funded by KFUPM (IN141008). Total Budget: SR. 115,940.
Co-Investigator: “Micropaleontology, Chemostratigraphy, Sedimentology, and Petrophysical Properties of the Jurassic Dhruma and Lower Tuwaiq Mountain Formations in Central Saudi Arabia: An Outcrop Analog for the Fadhili Petroleum Reservoir”, (12/2014 – 11/2016), funded by KFUPM (RG1401-1 and RG1401-2). Total Budget: SR. 509,302. Dr. Michael A. Kaminski is the PI and Dr. Ahmed Dogan, Dr. Lamidi Babalola and Dr. Gabor Korvin are the other Co-Is.
Principal Investigator: “An Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Fluid Flow Models during Thermal Flooding in Porous Media,” (03/2014 – 02/2016), funded by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) through the National Science & Technology Unit at KFUPM (11-OIL1661-04). Total Budget: SR. 1826,400. Dr. Sidqi A Abu-Khamsin is the Co-investigator and Dr Zaid Saghir, Dr. Kamviz Vafai, are the consultants.
Co-Investigator: “Prediction of permeability in carbonates based on 3D seismic and open hole log data using a triple-porosity model, Artificial Intelligence tools and Geostatistics”, (09/2013 – 08/2015), funded by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) through the National Science & Technology Unit at KFUPM (11-OIL2144-04). Total Budget: SR. 745,000. Dr. Abdulazeez Abdulraheem is the Principal Investigator; and other co-investigators are Dr. Abdulaziz A. Al-Majed, Dr. Ali Sahin, Dr. Gabor Korvin, Dr. Abdullatif Al-Shuhail, and Dr. Rafiul Hassan.
Co-Investigator: “Modeling of Dynamic Array Saturations (MIDAS)”, (03/2014 – 03/2015), funded by Saudi Aramco through Research Institute at KFUPM (CPM02306). Total Budget: SR. 1106,360.59. Dr Abdulazeez Abdurraheem is Principal Investigator. The other Co-Investigators are Dr. Hasan Al-Yousef, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Nasr Eldin Mahmoud, Dr. Rahul Narayanrao Gajbhiye, and Dr. Rafiul Hassan.
