Form designed, developed and maintained by:
Definitions:
Rapid prototyping: refers to the rapid development of physical models and/or functional prototypes directly from 3D CAD data, without the support of tooling or molds.
Reverse engineering: refers to the process of creating a descriptive CAD data set (data file) from a physical object by means of scanning or digitizing.
Rapid tooling: refers to the process of utilizing rapidly prototyped parts or actual parts to make tooling where molds may be directly fabricated by an RP system, or RP-generated parts can be used as patterns for fabricating a mold through so-called indirect or secondary processes.
Virtual machining: refers to the process of simulating conventional or CNC/NC machining operations in a computer environment.
