Students are expected to observe the following
guidelines in order to excel in this course.
Attendance
Students should be in class on time. Latecomers are
not welcome because they disturb the class.

Students
are required to attend all lectures
·
Official
excuses should be communicated to me within a week.
·
University
policies regarding unexcused absences will be applied.
Homework
·
Homework
on the material covered each week is collected on Monday of the following week.
·
Every homework is
treated as one assignment irrespective of the number of sections it involves.
·
Late
assignments will not be accepted.
·
A
number of problems (usually 5) from each assignment is selected at random and
graded.
·
Each
assignment is worth 10 points.
·
To
ensure a high grade, the assignments should be handed in, complete and correct.
Exams and Grades
There will be 2 mid term exams, 5 in class quizzes and a final in this course.
The final exam is comprehensive.
The total grade in this course will be based on the above 4 exams and the homework as follows:
2 mid term exams 40%
Quizzes 20%
Final exam 35%
Homework 5%
Total 100%
