Computing Experience
Dr. Chanane was involved, during the Summer 78, in the software development for the Micro Inputs Processor product which was being developed by the company Computer Design and Application, Newton, Massachusetts, USA.
He has a working knowledge of several computer programming languages: Visual Basic, Lisp (including OOP), Prolog, Pascal, Maple, Mathematica and Matlab. He wrote Prolog in Lisp and Lisp in Prolog (small implementations of course!). He has developed an experimental package in Lisp to do symbolic computations at a time when Mathematica and Maple were not available on PCs and supervised projects on symbolic computations (BS Final year projects). Now, he is using C, Fortran, Maple, Mathematica and Matlab in his research and teaching activities. He has a working knowledge of MS-Word, MS-Access, MS-Excel, Scientific Workplace.
He Computerized the Academic Services and the Entrance Exams at INELEC (the Algerian National Institute of Electricity and Electronics) in 1984 using Pascal programming language.
He is now doing some parallel computing using Message Passing Interface (MPI) and Parallel Virtual Machine (PVM).
