<NOFRAMES...>

<NOFRAMES>
This element is provided for HTML authors who want to create alternative content for browsers that can not display frames. This is especially useful if the author is making the very first document of the site a framed document. It should be noted that this element is not actually recognised by non-frame capable browsers. As with any HTML, if the browser does not recognise the element, it ignores it. Non frame-capable browsers would ignore all the <FRAMESET> and <FRAME> elements, but will display whatever is enclosed in the <NOFRAMES> ... </NOFRAMES> elements, which can be any HTML at all, because that is what it recognises. On the other hand, frame capable browsers will preferentially display what is set up by the frame elements, unless they provide any mechanism where the display of frames can be turned off, in which case they may display this alternative content.
