Network Lab Instructions
- Network lab is located in 23-016
- You should use the lab when the lab is not being used by undergraduate
students. The lab is being used as follows:
Sun: 11 to 2 and 2 to 5
Mon: 2 to 5
Tue: 2 to 5 and 9 to 11
Wed: 2 to 5
- You better call to see if the lab is open before you go to the lab.
The lab phone number is 4963. For most of the time, even in the weekend,
you will find someone there.
- When you are ready to take measurements, for your project.
- There are only 6 PCs for us to use. These are labeled as ICS-NWLE1,
ICS-NWLE2, ICS-NWLE3, ICS-NWLE4, ICS-NWLD3, and ICS-NWLD4
- Turn and login as administrator to all machines.
This is necessary step in order to trigger traffic generation.
- It is recommended that each team uses different machine
- When done using the machine please "shutdown"
- Don't use logoff. If you need to start all
over. You must "restart" the PC.
- You must start or restart in Windows 2000
- For the benefit of all, please don't change settings
in the PCs, routers, switches, or cables without prior approval from Dr. Salah
or Mr. Buhari.
- In order to avoid conflict in taking measurements,
here is the allocation of the PCs: ICS-NWLE1 and ICS-NWLE2 are
allocated for team 1. ICS-NWLE3 and ICS-NWLE4 are allocated for
team 2. ICS-NWLD3 and ICS-NWLD4 are allocated for team 3.
