Selected Projects
2005 – 2006: Team member in a Saudi Aramco project for a major microseismicity pilot test in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
2003 – 2004: Project Co-Leader of a feasibility study for Saudi Aramco about “Reservoir monitoring in Central Saudi Arabia”. Some results were published in “GeoArabia” (Vesnaver, Broadhead and Bellaci, 2006), and triggered a major ongoing project about micro-seismicity.
2002 – 2003: Team member in a feasibility study of seismic-while-drilling at Saudi Aramco, which produced also a US Patent n. 6868037 (Dasgupta and Vesnaver).
2001: Project Leader for 3D tomographic imaging of the Visund Field (North Sea) for the oil company Norsk Hydro (Norway).
1998 – 2001: Leader of the Project 4D-TAIL, funded by the European Union (contract n.OG/129/97), for reservoir monitoring by 3D tomography and AVO inversion, involving partners as Total (France) and Norsk Hydro (Norway).
1998: Consultant for the Belgian oil company Fina for a Project of tomographic inversion of wide-angle seismic data.
1996 – 1999: Project Leader of the TO-3D Project funded by the European Union (in the Thermie Program), for the validation of a 3D tomography code with adaptive irregular grids, involving oil companies as OMV and Norsk Hydro, and research institutes as TNO (The Netherlands) and DMT (Germany).
1990 – 1992: Project Leader in an R&D Project for the Italian oil company Eni-Agip, aimed at developing software for the 3D traveltime inversion.
1986 – 1989: Vice-Leader of a Project funded by the European Union (in the Joule Program) for the inversion of seismic signal anomalies.
