DR. SAMIR A. AL-BAIYAT

Welcome to Dr. Samir Al-Baiyat's website

       Dr. Samir A. Al-Baiyat is a Professor of Electrical Engineering Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). Dr Al-Baiyat is also Supervisor of the Technology Transfer, Innovation & Entrepreneurship. He is also the Secretary General of KFUPM International Advisory Board and the Director of Office on International Cooperation.

       Dr. Samir A. Al-Baiyat obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from KFUPM, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia in 1977 and 1980 respectively. He has completed his Ph.D. from the University of Norte Dame, U.S.A. in 1986 and joined the KFUPM faculty in the same year. He has been the Chairman of the Electrical Engineering Department at KFUPM for seven years (1995-2002). Dr. Al-Baiyat served as the Dean of College of Engineering Sciences and Acting Dean of College of Applied Engineering (2002-2010). He was the Assistant Supervisor for Public Relations & International Cooperation (2010-2011). He was the Supervisor of Dhahran Techno Valley (2011-2013). Dr. Al-Baiyat chairs the Board of the Saudi Scientific Society of Electrical Engineers since 2003. He was the Chairman of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), Saudi Arabian Section from 1997 – 2002 and still continues to be a member in this society. Dr. Al-Baiyat was a member of the Electrical and Electronics Council in the Engineering Committee (1995-1998).
