I- Systems and Computer Engineering
-
Working on wireless and satellite systems, ad-hoc networks, and computer
networking.
- Derived and implemented a new algorithm
for comparison between different transmission protocols.
- Implemented an enhanced intelligent weather aware control system (IWACS) based
on the decision support system (DSS) technique for achieving improved wireless channel
performance that takes into account the models of predictions.
- Worked with
Telesat
Company, Eion
Inc., Waterloo
University,
Algonquin College, and
Carleton University
in
Intelligent Satellite Services (ISS) project and the following
objective were developed:
a. Dynamic Modulation Adaptation schema
b. Dynamic Adaptation to Congestion
c. Terminal Fault Identification
- Implemented a new method for weather attenuation
estimation, named Iterative Approximation Method (IAM), which brings marked
improvements over ITU-R methods currently in use; it also extends accuracy of
calculations of rain attenuation over a wide range of signal frequency,
propagation angle, and rainfall rate not achieved by existing techniques.
- Extensions of ITU-R model
related to satellite channel for calculating rain, gas, cloud, fog, and
scintillation attenuations so as to factor rainfall rate, frequency, and
propagation angle.
- Introduction of a three dimensional relationship model for estimating
atmospheric attenuations in relation to rainfall rate, frequency, and
propagation angle; the profile thus resulting helps in faster decision making
and improved responsiveness.
- A new approach for real-time prediction of rain, gas, cloud, fog, and
scintillation attenuations based on actual weather data and Markov theory;
improved prediction and control compared to previous work improvements.
- Working on weather forecasting system using intelligent weather aware control
system (IWACS) controlled by the decision support system (DSS) and based on
Fuzzy-Neuro network.
- Working knowledge on MATLAB, C/C++, HTML, XML, XPath/XQuery and Web services
technologies.
