Present Position
 Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department and Project Manager in the Center For Communications and Computer Research (CCCR) of the Research Institute at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).

From 1991- Sep. 1997;  Manager of  the Development and Manufacturing Center of the Research Institute and Associate Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).

 
Administrative Experience
  1. Coordinator of the first Ph.D. Program (Electrical Engineering Department) in the University 1984-1987.
  2. Chairman of the Electrical Engineering Department in the most challenging time (1987-90) when all of the departments programs (Undergraduate, Graduate M.S., New Ph.D., new curriculum) have been expanded beyond all expectations (the number of students have increased from 200 to 700).
  3. Manager of the Development and Manufacturing Center (DMC) at the Research Institute. That requires a lot of planning, set-up organization, recruitment, procurement of special equipments etc. Also, since the DMC is based on an innovative concept, it requires a lot of marketing as well as management and administration.1991-1997.
  4. Member of many National Committees, Standing Committees at the University, KFUPM/RI, Electrical Engineering Department, Several M.S. Thesis, and Promotion Committees.
Teaching Activities
  1. Teach many graduate and undergraduate courses in Control System and Communication Theory.
  2. Established a number of new Laboratories and in designing new syllabi of various graduate as well as undergraduate courses in Electrical Engineering.

1.       Battell Course for Research and Development Management Program August 1984. Given by Battell Institute, Columbus, Ohio, and U.S.A..

2.       "Executive Program". Conducted by Graduate School of Business, Stanford University (USA) and National University of Singapore, Singapore on August 5-24, 1990. This program is designed to advance the professional capabilities of senior level executives. for effective management, strengthening strategic and organizational knowledge

3.       "Industrial Management - The Japanese Experience", Symposium presented by Japan's highly expert team at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, 15 - 18 December, 1991.

4.       "Radar System Analysis". Short Course given by the George Washington University, School of Engineering and Applied Science, , July 1986, Munich, Germany.
