Catalog Description

The purpose of this course is to help improve students' ability for presenting their technical work. In addition, the course emphasizes the various social and ethical responsibilities of the computing professional. It teaches students about the nature of engineering as a profession, codes of professional conduct, ethics & responsibility, and the role of professional societies. Case studies of conflict between engineering professional ethical values and external demands. The course features students participation in discussions held by faculty members and invited guests.

Grading Policy                  

Selecting a presentation You need to select a presentation related to the field. The presentation should be selected over the internet and does not belong to a KFUPM student/faculty 5%
Present others work Presentation for 10 min for the selected presentation 10%
Selecting papers You need to select a topic related to COE and find 3 references for it. One reference should be one of the oldest in the field of your topic. One should be one of the recent in the field The third one could be something in between. 15%
Preparing presentation Using the references you have collected, prepare a presentation. your presentation should have note on each slide explaining the slide 25%
Presenting your work Presentation for 10 min for the prepared presentation 10%
Presentations  attendance You are required to attend 3 presentations in the COE area of different types: Co-Op, senior project,  thesis, seminar ....
