Dr.
Aiman El-Maleh is a Professor in the Computer Engineering Department at
King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals. He holds a B.Sc. in
Computer Engineering, with first honors, from King Fahd University of
Petroleum & Minerals in 1989, a M.A.SC. in Electrical Engineering from
University of Victoria, Canada, in 1991, and a Ph.D in Electrical
Engineering, with dean’s honor list, from McGill University, Canada, in
1995. He was a member of scientific staff with Mentor Graphics Corp., a
leader in design automation, from 1995-1998. Dr. El-Maleh received the
“Excellence in Teaching” award from KFUPM in 2001/2002, 2006/2007,
2011/2012 and 2018/2019, the “Excellence in Advising” award from KFUPM
in 2013/2014 and 2017/2018, the “Excellence in Research” award from
KFUPM in 2010/2011 and 2015/2016, and the “First Instructional
Technology" award from KFUPM in 2009/2010. Dr. El-Maleh's research
interests are in the areas of synthesis, testing, and verification of
digital systems. In addition, he has research interests in defect and
soft-error tolerance design, VLSI design, design automation and
efficient FPGA implementations of deep learning algorithms and data
compression techniques. Dr. El-Maleh is the winner of the best paper
award for the most outstanding contribution in the field of test at the
1995 European Design & Test Conference. His paper presented at the 1995
Design Automation Conference was also nominated for best paper award. He
holds seven US patents.
