Personal Information


Dr. Naim M. Faqir received his doctorate in 1990 from   the     Chemical Engineering Department at Northwestern University,  Evanston, Illinois, USA.  In August 2007,  Dr. Faqir joined KFUPM as  visiting professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering. Dr. Faqir held several academic and industrial positions. Prior to joining KFUPM,  Dr. Faqir was professor at the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Jordan, and worked as operation engineer in Petroleum Refinery Co. of Jordan. He has conducted a short course in Distillation Control for engineers working for Saudi-ARAMCO. Dr. Faqir’s research interests are in the area of modeling and optimization of bioreactors and extraction processes. He has published several journal articles and supervised many graduate theses. He is a recipient of a number of scientific and research awards, including USAID fellowship award (1994), German DAAD research fellowship (1997), the Jordan University award for distinguished research paper (2004), and  Kaiserslautern  University-Germany research fellowship awards (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007).
