Work Experience

• Technical Consultant for the dean of admissions & Registration of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Since January 1997 to present. Helped the office in enhancing & developing procedures and systems for better performance. Including the help in implementing and customizing the Student Information System (SIS) and automation of running tasks. Moreover, developed tools and procedures to automate the grading process of Entrance Exams at KFUPM and develop decision support systems for admissions.

• Instructor at at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Information and Computer Science Department Since Sep 1992 to present. (One of the rare promotions in the life of the University from a lecturer position to an Instructor position)

• Part-time instructor with Department of Computer Science at Girls College - Dammam. September 2003 - June 2004. Taught senior students Arabization of Computers, Natural Language Processing and Senior Project courses.

• Lecturer at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Information and Computer Science Dep. between Jan 1988 - Sep 1992.

• Research Assistant and M.S. student M.S. thesis entitled 'Natural Arabic Language Understanding System' at KFUPM between 1984-1987. Assisted the department as a laboratory instructor and in conducting research.

• C Language Programmer at Computer and Communication systems Company, Amman, Jordan (for six months).

• Part-time Lecturer at Bin Khuldoon Institute, Jordan for one semester in 1984.

• Research/Teaching Assistant, System Programmer, and Microcomputer Laboratory Supervisor at Yarmouk University, Jordan between 1982-1984. Assisted the department as a laboratory instructor and in conducting research. Built a software package for registration and advising students in the department.

• Visiting Worker, Department of Artificial Intelligence, Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, UK, Summer 1996.
