Biography
I pursued my Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, and graduated with highest distinction. I was awarded the IEEE/AEC best student award
for my undergraduate academic achievements. Subsequently I arrived in
Washington, D.C. to pursue an M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Maryalnd, College Park. My masters thesis
topic was on Distributed Denial of Service Attack Prevention against
critical resources on the Internet. I pursued my PhD in Computer Science at Monash University,
Melbourne, Australia. My thesis topic was modeling and detection of distributed
denial of service attacks in Wireless Sensor Networks. I worked as an
information security specialist with Fraud management technologies, Melbourne,
from Sept. 2007 till Sept. 2008. I was a postdoctoral research fellow with the
School of mathematical sciences, RMIT, Melbourne, from Sept. 2008 till February
2009.
