Catalog Description:
Each student must participate in a summer training program of industrial experience, submit a formal written report on his work during the program, and give an oral presentation (seminar). The period of training must be at least eight consecutive weeks. The student is eligible for summer training after completing a minimum of 65 credit hours.

Prerequisites: Junior standing

Grading Policy:
This is a pass or fail grade course. A committee is formed for each student to examine him on the summer training experience and the work content performed by the student.

Course Objectives:

  1. To expose students to real industrial planning and improvement cases
  2. To apply knowledge of data collection, interpretation, and solution
  3. To improve students’ technical and communication skills

Course Learning Outcomes:
  1. Apply industrial engineering tools to real problems
  2. Ability to write a report and make an effective presentation

Guides and Forms:

General instructions on the writing of the report

  • Every report should have a title (describing the kind of problems inside the report) and an abstract.
  • The report must have references (books, websites if needed)
  • The logo of the company should not be put on the cover page or on every page of the report.
  • Every table and figure in the report must have a caption (like a title), and the caption should be put in the proper place (see below).

 

 


 

Guidelines on the writing of the report title

  • The title should describe briefly the solution proposed in the report
  • The title should not be long
  • The title should be inspiring and promote innovation

الوصف: يجب على كل طالب المشاركة في برنامج التدريب الصيفي لتطوير خبرته في الحياة العملية في مجال الصناعة، وتقديم تقرير مفصل عن عمله خلال هذا البرنامج، وتقديم عرض شفوي (ندوة). فترة التدريب يجب أن لا تقل عن ثمانية أسابيع. أي طالب مؤهلا في برنامج التدريب الصيفي على أن لا تقل الساعات المحصلة عن 65 ساعة معتمدة.
