Dr. Tahir Ayar

      Dr. Tahir Ayar obtained his Ph.D. in Productivity and Technological Change in Manufacturing Industries from RPI. His vast industrial experience includes four years with Advanced Innovative Technologies in the USA. His teaching responsibilities are in the area of Production Systems and Inventory Models; Industrial safety; Productivity Engineering and Management; Methods, Measurement, and Management of Work Systems; Entrepreneurship Education for Engineers .

He is currently a visiting faculty in the systems engineering department at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia and has been a visiting scholar to a number of institutions short and long term including for example department of business administration (1990 ? 1996) at International Islamic University in Malaysia.

Dr. Tahir's research interests include Productivity measurement models in manufacturing and service industries, Performance evaluation of computer integrated manufacturing (CIM) and Flexible Manufacturing Systems; Establishing and implementing safety and health programs at organizations and Developing university incubation systems.

Dr. Tahir has a diverse range of consulting and corporate teaching experience involving many private as well as public organizations including: in Malaysia - IIUM Management Center, he designed and delivered in-house training programs for university administrators, and organizational representatives on engineering and management subjects, provided consultation services to industrial and government organizations, and same did in Saudi Arabia at KFUPM.
