Filter of the Mind
The “Filter” is made up of a person’s Culture, Educational Level, Age,
Job Status, Rank and other personal and environmental factors of his life such as
Upbringing (how he grew up from childhood), Geographical home and present
location, Religious beliefs and practices, Semantics (word choice and
meanings). Of course, as we learned, the
“Filter of the Mind” has everything to do with PERCEPTION.
All of these factors, then, make up a person’s “Filter”
which processes incoming messages and determines (according to his Filter) what
is acceptable and what is correct according to his perception of life and
events.
What is not agreed with, or what is at odds with each person’s Filter,
is not acceptable to the person and is not retained, not heard, not thought
about, not considered, etc.
