Course Sponsorship

 Program

The Course Sponsorship Program is a new program that has been developed in the College of Industrial Management at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM). This program will help our instructors to combine the theoretical part of their courses with a real case study related to a specific company or industry. OUR GOAL is to do research in areas of interest to business.

Objectives of

Course Sponsorship

1.        Serving both the educational needs of our students and long-run goals of industrial development and diversification of the Kingdom.

2.        The educational experience and the learning opportunities for the students will be much richer for having grappled with real problems and opportunities faced in a Saudi Company.

3.        Preparing our students for challenges and opportunities that they will face in their managerial careers.

4.        Finally, the University will progress in accomplishing its mission and vision.

 Sponsorship Works

Benefits to Sponsoring

 Companies

1.       KFUPM students are more aware of the Saudi culture and environment than most professional consulting firms in the Kingdom that tend to have a foreign background.

2.       The sponsoring company may receive the benefit of the unique insights and perspectives that outsiders can offer but which company insiders, with a necessarily narrower focus, might overlook.

3.       Feedback from a Course Sponsorship study may help the company to better understand its customers and prepare for the more competitive environment that will result when Saudi Arabia joins the WTO.

4.       The students who work on these projects may contribute to creating increased awareness of the company’s products/services among potential buyers. In addition, they may provide promotional support for the marketing activities of the sponsor through word–of-mouth communication with friends and relatives, and may in fact be potential customers for the products/services offered by the company.

5.       Sponsorship for courses projects will be seen as support for KFUPM’s academic programs, and contributing to the professional development of the Kingdom’s managers. This will portray the company as fulfilling a social responsibility and improve its image.
