Biographical Information

Born in the United Kingdom I trained via an engineering apprenticeship in the steel industry. My post qualification experience includes service as an Engineer Officer in the British Merchant Navy, Chief Engineer in operations and maintenance, Project Design and Project Management appointments in refurbishment projects for the UK healthcare sector. My educational experience includes Lectureships in Plant Engineering in further education in UK and as Head of Plant Engineering at the Malawi Polytechnic a college of the University of Malawi. I was a team member of the UK government’s aid programme to the Republic of Malawi. During recent years I have been involved in consultancy projects including:

*  Setting up operational procedures in estate and facilities management for UK healthcare providers

*  Acting as a visiting lecturer in health & safety, pressure systems operating procedures and energy conservation for UK facilities management contractors

*  Setting up and conducting Authorised Person training programmes under the Pressure Systems Regulations at Heathrow Airport

 

I joined the faculty of KFUPM in January 2000 taking over Directorship of the ME Preparatory Year Programme in September 2001.
