Dr. Al Dakhil-Allah is an Assistant Professor in the College of Sciences,
Earth Sciences Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and
Minerals.
He received a Ph.
D. degree in 1998 from the School of Earth, Atmospheric and Environmental
Sciences, University of Manchester, England. The title of his
Ph.D. thesis was Clams as Biomonitors of Oil-related Metal Pollution
in Seawater. He received his BS degree in 1987 from the
College of Marine Sciences, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi
Arabia.
The
research interests of Dr. Al Dakhil-Allah in the field
of environmental protection and management is related mostly to environmental
toxicology, bioassay, monitoring, and biomonitoring. He is interested
in establishing certifying schemes for the approval of chemical and biological
materials used in the environment, e.g. oil spill treatment products.
These schemes require development of regional toxicity protocols for the
products. He has launched initiatives in this regard to further develop
this practice area in the Gulf region. In addition, he is interested in
strategic planning and management of monitoring and biomonitoring programs,
environmental assessment, e.g., EIA, risk management, and project management.
Dr. Al Dakhil-Allah
is interested also in the knowledge-economy and knowledge-society. He
is involved in the National Knowledge Society Initiative and is working
closely with pioneers and experts in this field.
Furthermore, he is
interested in the Total Quality Management (TQM) and the EFQM Excellence
Model.
Dr. Al Dakhil-Allah
has published a number of scientific and conference papers. He is a member
of professional societies and organizations, including the Society of
Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry in the US (SETAC),
the Environmental Technology and Management Association (ETMA),
and the Saudi Arabian Quality Council-West Region (SQC-WR),
Dr. Al Dakhil-Allah
has been offered the following positions:
- Director of the Innovation Center in KFUPM (the proponent is the
Vice Rector).
- Dean of the Technical College in Al-Baha (the proponent is the
Vice Governor of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation).
- Assignment of establishing a technical college in Hafr Albatin
and assuming a Deanship there (the proponent is the Vice Governor
of the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation).
- Vice Dean to the Society College in Hafr Albatin (the proponent
is the Dean of the Society College/KFUPM in Hafr Albatin
His expertise includes the following:
- Environmental Management.
- Strategic Planning and Management for Aquatic Monitoring and Biomonitoring
Programs.
- Early Warning Biological Systems.
- Bioassay Technology.
- Aquatic Ecotoxicology.
- Development of Certifying Schemes to approve the use of chemical
and biological products including the Toxicity Measurement Protocols.
- Aquatic Bioassay.
- Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA).
- Aquatic biomonitoring.

- Trace metals analysis in environmental samples (air, water, sediment,
and organisms).
Dr. Al
Dakhil-Allah has teaching experience in the
Environmental Sciences Master of Science Program in the Earth Sciences
Department. He also has instructed short courses such as the preparation
course for RAM1 exam (university enterance exam) and various management
courses
.
Dr. Al
Dakhil-Allah has experience in the field of business
and administration including the following:
- Consultant for SUMOU Holding Company.
- Member in an advisory committee to the Rector of KFUPM to improve
the profile of the university (2007).
- Board member of the Saudi Society of Technology Development and
Transfer (SSTDT) (2006-2009).
- Executive Director of SSTDT
(2003-2006).
- General coordinator for the foundation of SSTDT.
- Team leader for solving the two billion financial crises concerning
the investment company of Al-Eed and his partner A. AlGhamdi investing
company.
- Consultant for Al-Bady Company.
- Chairman/member of several committees in KFUPM.
- Organizing several conferences and exhibitions in KFUPM and SSTDT.
- Participating in the Saudi Quality Council’s (SQC-WR)
administrative activities.
