Abstract:

 

My master thesis was in the wireless communication field, specifically, in cellular (mobile) systems. The code-division multiple access (CDMA) technique was used to allow multiuser capability in the system. Also, a full model for both system transmitter and receiver was designed. Those models were simple, and they included very popular parts (stages) in their construction. The main objective of the thesis was to reduce the co-channel interference between users in the CDMA multiuser cellular systems. Many new techniques were used in the proposed system model. Such techniques include: multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO), orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), spread spectrum (SS), and beamforming. Using these advanced techniques makes our model a beyond 3G cellular system. It can be considered as a 4G cellular system. The topics mentioned in the proposed work are now interesting areas of research in both wireless and mobile communication fields.
